Brinson honored among top female business leaders in Los Angeles
Van Nuys, CA, May 11, 2009 – Diane Brinson, president of Momentous Insurance Brokerage, has been nominated for the Women Making a Difference award in the Owner/CEO category. This award, honoring L.A.’s most successful women business leaders, is now in its 18th year. This is a reader-nominated special feature from the Los Angeles Business Journal recognizing women making a difference in the Los Angeles community. This special supplement traditionally garners over 200 nominations each year and includes categories such as Executive, Owner/CEO, Philanthropist, Rising Star, and Volunteer.
Diane was nominated because she is the only female business owner of a large independent insurance brokerage. She has trail-blazed her way to the top by being an inspirational leader who motivates her team to be their best. She is devoted to change – breaking boundaries by investing in technology to streamline business processes, customize solutions for clients and protect the environment. She is also a philanthropist, donating regularly to a number of charities.
Before forming Momentous in October 2008, Diane was a managing director of a large, national insurance brokerage where she was responsible for more than 100 employees. She bravely set off on her own to start up a new firm that more closely reflected her professional ideals and elevated standards. In less than six months, Diane has established Momentous as one of the new leaders in the business, and even in this difficult economy has managed to grow her staff from 85 to 107 professionals, 12 of which are women in leadership positions.
Momentous’ total premium volume is $180 Million with revenues of $22 Million, ranking among the top California brokers. Diane has 27 years of insurance experience, serving as an insurance company marketing representative, a direct writer and an independent insurance broker. Her expertise is deeply rooted in insuring high net worth individuals through accountants, attorneys, family offices, and company CFOs, as well as directly with high-profile clients. Diane is well-versed in all agency operations, and also sits on numerous insurance company advisory boards. She has a B.S. degree from Florida State University.
