Jill Jacoby selected as a Finalist for the distinguished “Benefits Power Broker” Award by Risk and Insurance magazine
Van Nuys, CA, (June 1, 2010) – Jill Jacoby, Vice President at Momentous Insurance Brokerage, was recognized today by Risk and Insurance magazine as a finalist for their annual “Benefits Power Broker” Award in the highly competitive category of Healthcare Insurance. This category includes group health and dental insurance and health insurance benefits administration.
Risk and Insurance is a highly regarded national insurance-industry publication, and Jill’s inclusion as a finalist is a tremendous accomplishment, as she is recognized among the top players in Healthcare Insurance across the country.
This award identifies the most outstanding brokers and consultants, i.e. those individuals who have done extraordinary work for their clients in 2009. Risk and Insurance looks at client service, creativity and innovation in problem-solving, cost-savings and quality improvements, along with insurance and benefits expertise.
Below is an excerpt from Jill’s nomination, which is a true testament to Jill’s commitment to providing excellent service:
“The major accomplishments that come to mind over the past year have all been medical claim related and the problem solving and creative leaps we had to make. I believe firmly that this business is about more than just the products and their premiums, it’s about the people we are covering and their families. We need to make the policies respond fully with compassion to deliver claims payment quickly and correctly. My team and I have proudly handled claims for clients involving appealed surgeries, specialty treatment approved for their kids, a cerebral vascular incident away from home and providers overcharging. While challenging, to come out victorious in each of these situations has been the most rewarding feeling.
One particular victory of note was not even for a client, but a friend of one. A young lady had a surgery that ended up causing more damage than good, but her insurance now would not approve the corrective surgery she needed to regain her health. Her HR team was of no help and she really needed an advocate. I was able to escalate her unique situation to a case manager where she'd just been dealing with the 800# before for months to no avail. She was then able to have the surgery within weeks and is now back to her living her life again.”
