CHIPRA Notice Deadline Nears

Under the federal Children's Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2009 (CHIPRA), any employer that offers group health coverage to employees must provide notice to those employees of state health insurance premium assistance that may be available for dependents.
This notice must be provided no later than May 1. After that date, civil penalties of up to $100 per day may be assessed on employers until the notice is provided.
